Better Late Then Never - Vow This Republic Day for a Corruption Free Clean India!

By admin - Posted on 26 January 2012

It's our 63rd Republic Day. If you retrospect, you would feel we have come a long way. We have seen big developments and drastic changes. Today we are free to do whatever we want. Our living standard has improved a lot. Everything and everyone seems to be progressing. May be that's what you think, because you have the access to internet and you can read this while sitting at the comforts of your home. But think about those who don't even have access to safe drinking water even today, those who still live on pavements, those who are below poverty line, and those who don't earn enough to earn two times meal.

May be you haven't seen someone dying of hunger. May be you haven't seen someone begging for food. We live in cities and think everything is going well. Political parties also spend a lot of money to display advertisements showing the growth stats of our economy. But let me tell you frankly, we are still sluggish when it comes to growth. And we can not develop fully, until the corruption is removed out from our country.

Our politicians, bureaucrats are eating up our economy. Corruption is so vast, that you can't expect anything to be done without paying bribe. Recent examples show the vast amount of our hard earned money going down the drain. Common wealth corruption, 2G scam are the recent examples that can not be forgotten. Thousands of crores were misused and are being misused.

Even the clerks and lower grade officers of our country have made tons of illegal money. Recently caught Raman Dhuldhoye, a clerk employed with RTO, owned 1 kg gold and other assets worth Rs 40 crore. Although his salary was just Rs 15000 per month. This is just one case, who knows there may be many more Raman Dhuldhoyes in our country if a pan India inquiry is done. Tons of money is illegally stashed into the swiss banks. That money is our money only. We earn hard to generate GDP of our country. We pay taxes and pay our bills. At the end of the day, government officials and politicians fill their pockets and when they can't fill their pockets then send the money to their swiss bank accounts. If this is not stopped, that day is not far when we will have to face an internal war within the country and everything will be ruined.

So, better late then never. Let's get up and vow this Republic Day to make India a corruption free country and participate actively to clean the mess all around us. No one will come and do it for us. We have to get up and do something on our own. Jai Hind!
