A Dividing Factor - Reservation Policy

By priti28india - Posted on 21 February 2011

Reservation is a burning topic of our country at present days and everyone is quite aware of it. Politicians are masterminds behind the game of reservation system. Our constitutional organizers put the clause of reservation for SC, ST and OBC according the condition of those days. Those days’ people were discriminated on the basis of inequity system. So, Dr. Ambedkar moved to make reservation policy. But it’s unfortunate to come closer to the ugly truth behind reservation game. There is almost 50% reservation for SC, ST and OBC in every field, civil services, government services, education systems and many more. Do you think that this is fair and justice for meritorious students? What about those students who are securing good marks in competitive exams but in spite of this cannot get into it? On the one side we are talking that caste, religion, sex or gender etc. should be based on non-discrimination but on the other hand our constitution is defined on the basis of caste, sex and religion.

Reservation policy is affecting Open Category Students very badly. It’s not only affecting their career but creating envy in their mind against system and this prejudice. According to me, its really injustice for those students who do hard labor in their study, score good but can’t get admission into college or job because 50% seats are reserved and for those reserved seats people who don’t deserve but get admission just on the basis of caste. Caste-based reservation is of no use in the changed circumstances. This is even dangerous as it will forever keep the country divided. The politicians cannot be allowed to ruin the nation, now that they have set their sights even on globally reputed IITs and IIMs. They use to send their children as well as their relatives also. Our so called social representatives misuse reservation policy for the sake of their prestige and respect.

Its not easy for me to understand this policy because as per my view "A GOOD WINE NEEDS NO PUSH". It means if a student is intelligent then he/she deserve to take admission in reputed topmost educational institutes. At the other hand if a student is not only intelligent but not laborious also, then how can he/she deserve to continue their studies by replacing meditorious students. According to my point of view its totally unfair with those students who give everything for their passion to achieve higher education. In the same way I have found the same situation with the candidates who work hard to get a suitable job for themselves. Many person get job in companies only on the sake of referneces. And opposite to that if any candidate has no Godfather or refernence then he/she has to make his/her mind to seek job for a long term, even they possess good education qualifications, relevant experiences!!!

This is quite unfortunate for us that Reservation policy was framed for the development of our society. But now a days this policy is worst than insurance policies because these policies dont keep differences. Hard working candidates are roaming on road and castism based students are enjoying the benefits of the word "RESERVATION".
